Ric Menello Website Updated with New Content, Rebuttal to Richard Brody

March 5, 2015 – Updates to Ricmenello.com, the website that pays tribute to the late director and screenwriter who passed away two years ago March 1, include the important Rebuttal to Richard Brody. This piece was written by Vincent Giordano. It clearly points out Brody’s defamatory intentions, inaccuracies, and false statements written in two articles published following Menello’s death. Giordano, who worked with Ric on many occasions throughout his life, reveals how offensive these articles were in this strong and passionate rebuttal. It is followed by the first of many rebuttals written by Ric’s close friend and fellow film critic Mel Neuhaus that were omitted from the comments section when the original articles were published.

The website also now has an updated bio. It features insight into Ric Menello’s early years, his early inspirations, education, and projects and affiliations. The bio also showcases his work with the Beastie Boys as a music video director and writer for a television pilot. Images of his childhood and career are included here as well.

Also, a new story has been added to the “Recollections of Ric” section. This touches on Ric’s work with Rick Rubin and its impact on Def Jam and The Beastie Boys. In addition to archived footage, music videos, and of course, The Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” video, the “Videos” section now features a new entry. “Menello Archives: Volume Four” is a three-and-a-half minute video of Ric Menello singing with a few friends on Christmas 2012. Here, the director sings “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance”.

The website still includes the features it originally provided as a tribute. There are written materials from Ric himself, photographs, stories written by others on what it was like to work with him, and the Menello Archives. Here, there are music videos directed by Ric and also video features. In the news section, there is now a remembrance of Ric on the second anniversary of the day he died. It announces the website update and introduces the rebuttal, updated biography, and addition to the recollections page.

Intended as a source of information and entertainment, the website celebrates the life of Ric Menello. It is open to inclusion of writings and photographs submitted by the general public.

Cardian Angel Announces the release of their new App to tackle the growing issue of Fraud

According to recent estimates, 2 in 5 Adults will fall victim to fraud. Credit Card fraud alone is estimated to cost $12 bn per year or $381 per second. This global threat knows no boundaries of age, gender or nationality.

A new app, CardianAngel, has been released to help protect users from the ever-growing threat of Credit Card theft and Identity Fraud.

The CardianAngel app is designed to protect users from joining the 40% of adults that lose hundreds of pounds, dollars, euros or rupees to fraudsters.

This is achieved in a number of ways:

  • The app stores telephone numbers needed to cancel cards in the event of loss. (Just to be helpful, the app also stores helpful numbers like driving licence and passport offices)
  • Users can create a list of their own cards. So, when in a panic, no cards are missed or forgotten
  • Can’t find one of your cards on our list – no problem, just add it.
  • Every call made is time stamped. If card provider questions cancellation time, you have a log.
  • In addition, CardianAngel reviews hundreds of feed feeds and provides the user information on the new and most devious fraud tactics – Forewarned is forearmed.

What to do in the event of a loss

CardianAngel contains contact information on more than a thousand card providers. Users can add any missing ones.

In the event of a lost purse or wallet, the user simply goes through their My Cards list cancelling each one. This process can be undertaken immediately, minimizing the amount of time cards may be used fraudulently. The time of these calls are logged, in case of disagreement with your card provider.

Prevention better than Cure

Users are kept up to date with the latest fraudster tactics, helping them keep safe and avoid losing their valuable information and hard earned money. CardianAngel scans hundreds of news feeds and informs subscribers of the major fraud tactics. This isn’t limited to Card fraud but covers every issue related to personal fraud, arming users with useful tips and information on avoiding becoming a victim.

Become an Affiliate

CardianAngel is looking to recruit affiliate to spread the word and sign up subscribers. “It doesn’t cost anything to be an affiliate but it goes along way in passing the message and helping others get the necessary protection from Fraud,” says the CardianAngel representative.

“By promoting us on your blog, your community or campus, we share subscription earnings. Once you hit Gold Status you can recruit further members to increase your earning potential,” adds the representative as he describes the benefits from being a CardianAngel Affiliate.

CardianAngel’s Aim

“We know we can’t stop fraud,” says CardianAngel’s representative, “but if we can just help our subscribers hang on to their hard earned money,” then we’ve made a difference.”
